Chicago rapper Vic Mensa has been dropping promising EPs, singles, mixtapes, and high-profile collaborations for all of the current decade, and now he’s finally set to release his proper debut album. He initially planned to release Traffic as his debut last year, but he scrapped that album, released a few EPs in its place — last year’s There’s Alot Going On and this year’s The Manuscript — and now his debut album will be The Autobiography, due out in two weeks (7/28) via Roc Nation/Capitol. The album was executive produced by No I.D., and it has collaborations with Weezer, Syd, Chief Keef, Joey Purp, Ty Dolla $ign, The-Dream, Pharrell Williams and Saul Williams. The new single is “Wings” with Pharrell Williams and Saul Williams (no relation) and you can listen to that below. “OMG” ft. Pusha T from The Manuscript is a bonus track, and you can watch the video for that below too.
Vic just played NYC’s Full Moon Fest (pics HERE), and he has a few more festival dates coming up: Philly’s Made In America, Anaheim’s Day N Night, Chicago’s Riot Fest, and LA’s Spaceland Block Party.
