Lloyd Banks disses mumble rap in new freestyle, playing BB King’s with Vado

Lloyd Banks isn’t cranking out music the way he was during G-Unit’s heyday, but he did just stop by Hot 97 for a new freestyle that’s got some people (like Tony Yayo) talking. Over the beat to Nas’ “N.Y. State of Mind,” Banks dissed mumble rappers (“A lot of shit I’m not understanding, whole kind of questions for me / Culture lessons, punks need addressin’, they out here dressin’ funny”) referenced Migos and Joe Budden’s near-altercation, and held a moment of silent for Prodigy. The New York rapper plays a hometown show on July 27 at BB King’s with another local staple, Cam’ron associate Vado (tickets). Vado released the Sinatra 2 mixtape about a month ago, featuring Lloyd Banks on “Lee TV.” You can stream the whole thing below.
