Garbage‘s 2016 album Strange Little Birds may be their best album since the ’90s, so it’s good news to hear the band are keeping the creative juices flowing and have a new song out, “No Horses.” Butch Vig told Variety that song is “very Patti Smith stream of consciousness” (maybe the song title is a nod to the CBGB legend’s debut?) and you can hear some Patti Smith in Shirley Manson’s delivery here for sure. It still sounds very much like Garbage though. It’s good stuff and you can stream it below.
Garbage are on tour now with another CBGB legend, Blondie. We recently caught the LA show with Sky Ferreira opening (review, setlists), and the tour lands in NYC on August 1 at Beacon Theatre with Deap Vally opening (tickets).
In other news, a new Garbage coffee table book is out now. In other other news, Garbage’s Duke Erikson was nominated for an Emmy.
