Blinkin Park

Linkin Park cancelled their upcoming tour in the wake of frontman Chester Bennington’s tragic suicide, but the status of the two “Welcome to Blinkin Park” shows the band were scheduled to play with blink-182 and Wu-Tang Clan, including one next week at NYC’s Citi Field, was still uncertain. According to blink-182, those shows are now cancelled as well.

blink-182 is wrecked by the loss of our friend and amazing musician Chester Bennington. We could never imagine playing blinkin park without his incredible talent and voice. It just would not be possible. We send our deepest sympathies to his family, bandmates, friends and fans. Refunds will be available at the point of purchase.

Many musicians have paid tribute to Bennington following his death, including Stone Temple Pilots, for whom Bennington sang lead vocals from 2013-2015.

An official statement from Linkin Park is still forthcoming, but Mike Shinoda said he was “shocked and heartbroken” to hear the news.

One of my favorite memories with Chester and Linkin Park was playing this benefit for the Philippines ❤️ #RESTINPEACECHESTER pic.twitter.com/Jkyfa1nFl3
